NINIOLA — THE QUEEN OF AFRO-HOUSE

Groovy beats laced with steady Piano tune, simple lyrics, feel good vibe; these are the basics on which Niniola’s music are based on these days. And guess what? It’s Amapiano ! .

Niniola, the self proclaimed ‘Queen Of Afro-House’ , she totally deserves this title because she has been a force on the Nigerian Amapiano scene. Songs like Addicted is one of the best Amapiano rendition in Nigeria. For those who don’t know, Afro-House( contains Amapiano) is a sub-genre of Afrobeats, and it’s more about grooving and dancing, great tunes with short and simple lyrics to spice it up.

On this EP, Lagos To Jozi, a short and experimental one. Lagos, a place in her home country to Jozi, the main city Amapiano originated. Niniola wanted to make Amapiano music just like it is made in South Africa.

Commando sees Niniola craving for someone who would take care of her and give her everything she wants. She wants someone who’s capable of answering to all of her needs. I did it (bum bum) features South African artist, Lady Du and its more of a vibe, a potential club jam on our hands. Dig Dig produced and co-owned with GuiltyBeatz is another interesting cut. Too Sweet ( O Dun), the only track pre-released from the album, also another party jam.

The Lagos To Jozi EP is one which further cements Niniola’s status as the true ‘Queen Of Afro-House’ . All tracks are jam as expected. This one just serve as a experimental playlist, we hope a long one is coming.
